3 new doors

Every now and then we pop on kijiji’s Free section to see what people are offering. That’s how we ended up with our fooseball table a few years back now, when we lived on Williams Lake Road. Well, this time we found three lightly used white 6 panel doors with hardware..and they were free! And not too far from where we live, which was bonus.

So we picked them up a few Saturday mornings ago and Leo went to work (again). I swear he has never ending energy and thankfully he’s pretty awesome at being handy/talented/skilled in so many areas. I try to help out but really wish I knew more about this kind of stuff. I might check out some of the Home Depot workshops that they offer.

So, as with a lot of the projects in our house they don’t seem to be straight forward. Leo didn’t just install the three doors. He had to remove the old doors, sand and basically rebuild/reframe the doorways so that the new doors fit properly..even added a door sweep on the bathroom door that was a bit too short.

So, I had a difficult time finding photos of the three doors from before the renovations.  In the first picture below you can see Jenna’s room before we moved in. She had a fairly standard door from back in the 70’s maybe? And yes, brass door knobs...I’m completely anti-brass, we did a lot of brass removal when we moved in.

         

The picture below is of Madison’s room. Again, you can see this is the same basic style of door (and 

more brass door knobs).

 

I don’t seem to have a picture of the bathroom door from before our latest addition, but it looked pretty much the same as Jenna and Madison’s bedroom doors.

I think it makes the upstairs look so much better...more updated, I guess. And our puppycat Oscar seems to like them too. ❤️
